where is your house?

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. Have you ever gone to the beach and tried to build a sand castle, only to have the waves come in and knock it down after all your hard work? 

Or how about building a bird house, only to have it fall apart when a wind comes along and knocks it out of the tree? 

What of those three little pigs who each chose something different to build their houses?

All of these examples boil down to the same thing: it matters what foundation you choose.

Your sandcastle, can’t be built on sand that is gong to wash away.

Your birdhouse needs a stable bottom for the sides and roof to withstand the wind.

Those piggies, they needed a good base and building material to have a house that lasts.

It is the same with your spiritual house, you have to have a solid foundation on which to build.

Jesus gives you that solid rock on which to stand (oh yeah, old hymn reference!)

Listen to what Jesus has to say, and follow His words.

Your spiritual house will withstand any storm, as long as you have Jesus.
