only human

So he had to be made like people, fully human in every way. Then he could serve God as a kind and faithful high priest. And then he could pay for the sins of the people by dying for them.

- Hebrews 2:17 (NIRV)

There is a lot of controversy in the Bible regarding the humanity of Jesus.
That controversy, those conversations continue even today.
People don’t understand who Jesus is, how He is divine, yet He was human.
Jesus shared our humanity for the sole purpose of dying for us.
He was made so that He could live like us, with us and for us.
Humanity was essential to His role here on earth.
If He had not been human, He would not have been able to die on our behalf.
He would not have been able to suffer, to be tempted, to show us the way to freedom.
True freedom!
Jesus being human was not just to get our attention, it was a necessity.
Jesus had to be like us so He could be our sacrifice.
Because He was human, He freed us from the fear of death.
He was human because we needed Him to be.
