This,
then, is how you should pray:
Our
Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our
debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
- Matthew 6:9-13
Today,
I have a lesson in prayer.
Jesus
clearly taught us how we should pray, but so many times, we just tell God what
we want Him to do,
We
don’t take the time to praise Him.
We
rarely thank Him.
So
here you go . . .
Lesson
one: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name - first we honor God's name,
tell Him how awesome He is, don't we all want to know we are loved and
appreciated?
Lesson
two: your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven - we
need to give up the control we try so hard to have on life. His will be
done.
Lesson
three: Give us today our daily bread - one day at a time. God
supplies our daily needs - we don't have to think about tomorrow because His
comfort and strength are enough.
Lesson
four: forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors - forgiveness
. . . we should not ask God to forgive us if we won't forgive others.
Lesson
five: lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one - God
will never ever lead you into temptation. you might lead yourself or the
devil might lead you, and the closer you follow Jesus, the more temptations you
will face.
So
now you’ve learned how you should pray.
Do
you want to practice right now?
