Do
nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider
others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own
interests, but also to the interest of others.
—Philippians 2:3-4
People rely on me a lot.
I have often been told that people come to me because they know
they can count on me.
I have let people move in with me, loaned people money, cars,
and equipment.
I have helped people complete tasks that I don’t complete for my
own household!!
I do it out of love for my friends and family.
Some have abused this generous heart of mine though.
I have been trampled on, my life has been threatened by a person
that I tried to help, and another just took complete advantage of my generous
nature.
When I have I had to rid myself of these toxic relationships,
other friends have asked if I will continue to help those in need.
Without a doubt, of course I will.
When my friends need me, I will be there in every way possible.
In Genesis 4:9, the Lord said to Cain, “Where is your brother
Abel?” “I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”
God’s answer is a clear and undeniable yes.
We have to take care of everyone, not just ourselves.
Have a blessed day!
