That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.”
- 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NLT)
I love music, all kinds of music.
One of my absolute favorite Christian bands is Mercy Me.
Cue the song reference!
I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk by Your side
I can only imagine
What my eyes would see
When Your face is before me
I can only imagine
Yeah
Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You Jesus
Or in awe of You be still?
Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees, will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever, forever worship You
I can only imagine, yeah
I can only imagine
Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you Jesus
Or in awe of You be still?
Will I stand in your presence
Or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine, yeah
I can only imagine
This verse, this song. . . we don’t know what awaits us, but from what we learn in the Bible it will be glorious.
We’ve heard of streets of gold, flowing with milk and honey.
We’ve heard that pain will cease, that death is overcome, and we will have eternal life.
That we are going to a big house with many rooms and there will be no more suffering
But what will we really have?
I can only imagine.
