Moses answered the people, “Do not
be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you
today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will
fight for you; you need only to be still.”
- Exodus 14:13-14
God had just told Moses to lead the people out of Egypt into the
desert.
There was nothing in the desert.
The people were terrified, and cried to Moses asking what he had
done.
Moses told them not to be afraid, to listen and believe, that
God would protect them.
Oh yeah – another song reference!! (I can’t help it, I love
music, especially when it praises my Father!)
Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes
To climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves
To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out His hand
But the waves are calling out my name
And they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. "Boy, you'll never win!"
"You'll never win!"
But the voice of truth tells me a different story
The voice of truth says, "Do not be afraid!"
The voice of truth says, "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth
There have been so many times in my life that I have been
afraid.
I wish I would have learned early on to trust in God, it would
have saved a lot of tears.
Now I know.
No matter what happens, we do not have to be afraid, we just
have to listen for His voice, the voice of truth.
God is on our side.
Have a blessed day.
