little things, big things

If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.

- Luke 16:10 (NLT)

Trust is a big word for only being five letters.

We act like it is not a big deal and we go through life telling the occasional little lie thinking that no one will know and that it doesn’t hurt anyone.

Nothing could be farther from the truth (hey another five-letter word!).

Imagine if you will a high school senior that just doesn’t feel like going to a certain class because he’d rather hang out with his friends that don’t have school that day, so he skips that class thinking that no one will ever know.

But in that class was a test that day and by not taking that test, he failed the class and instead of graduating mid-term, he had to take another semester full of classes because of the one fifty-minute class that he didn’t want to attend.

That act of not being faithful to his schedule cost him an entire semester, which cost him early admission to college and well, you see how things just probably rolled down hill from there.

Be honest, be faithful, even in the little things so when the big things come along people know they can trust you.
