A healthy tree bears good fruit, but a poor tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a poor tree cannot bear good fruit.
- Matthew 7:17-18
Remember the old saying “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” ?
That can be a compliment or a concern.
The saying, according to the Cambridge dictionary, means that “a child usually has a similar character or similar qualities to his or her parents.”
So maybe you are a musical prodigy, and your child shows a talent for the piano.
Or, maybe you are a little shifty and your child has been in trouble at school for telling lies.
As Charles Stanley once said
“The fruit of the Spirit does not pop out of believers through effort; Christians bear fruit through surrender. We “take root” in the heavenly Father by meditating on His Word, praying, and serving. We reserve nothing for ourselves to control but fully rely upon Him.”
What kind of fruit do you bear?
Have a blessed day!
