To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to
me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word of the Lord is
offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it. But I am full of the wrath of
the Lord, and I cannot hold it in. “Pour it out on the children in the street
and on the young men gathered together; both husband and wife will be caught in
it, and the old, those weighed down with years. Their houses will be turned
over to others, together with their fields and their wives, when I stretch
out my hand against those who live in the land,” declares the Lord. “From the
least to the greatest, all are greedy for gain; prophets and priests alike, all
practice deceit. They dress the wound of my people as though it were not
serious. ‘Peace, peace,’ they say, when there is no peace. Are they ashamed of
their detestable conduct? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know
how to blush. So they will fall among the fallen; they will be brought down
when I punish them,” says the Lord. This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the
crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and
walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. Whatever you have learned or
received or heard from Me, or seen in Me — put it into practice. And the God of
peace will be with you.

That is a long verse . . . one that our sermon was on this
week at church.
I know that I will not be able to quote all the points that my
wonderful pastor brought up yesterday, but I can tell you that it made me perk
up and listen.
I have been sending this email / writing this blog for a long
time.
And look what this verse says: “Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word
of the Lord is offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it.”
Who listens?
Who hears?
See, I have to send out these verses, I have to write my silly
little blog.
Because there will be a time that the right verse touches the
right person and makes a difference in that person’s life.
Seek the ancient path.
Temptation is a choice between the old path (God's will for us)
and a new path provided by the devil.
So often the devil's path is presented to us as a shortcut to
happiness, prosperity, and accomplishment.
However, this path leads us away from God and the blessings He
longs to give us.
Let's not be like the people of God in Jeremiah's day who
refused God's way and said, "We will not walk in it."
The outcome of their choice was their own destruction.
So as the verse reads “Whatever
you have learned or received or heard from Me, or seen in Me — put it into
practice.”
I am practicing.
It is well with my soul.
