rest

Rest in God alone, my soul, for my hope comes from Him.

- Psalm 62:5 (CSB)

Today, I’m continuing my theme of finding rest. Saturday mornings used to be my favorite time of the week. I would often wake before anyone else, make a cup of coffee, and enjoy the quiet—usually with a cat or two on my lap. These days, that quiet moment means bringing my coffee back to bed, curling up next to my husband, and simply being present. It’s a peaceful time for me, a moment when both my heart and my mind can find rest.

I struggle with anxiety—it’s a very real disorder that touches my life in so many ways, often making it hard to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. Even though it’s invisible to others, it can feel overwhelming. But in nurturing my relationship with God, I’ve found true peace. I’m so grateful for the love and support of my wonderful husband. Even if he doesn’t always understand exactly what I’m experiencing, he does everything he can to protect and comfort me. That, my friends, is love.

Everyone experiences moments of fear, anxiety, and unrest. My encouragement to you is to find your peace in God. Pray for understanding and compassion for those in your life who may be suffering in ways you can’t see. God is good—all the time. And when you seek Him, you’ll discover it is well with your soul.
